 POSTPONING THE AUGUST 1 – 2, 2021 LICENSURE EXAMINATION FOR PSYCHOLOGISTS AND PSYCHOMETRICIANS AND RESCHEDULING THE SAME TO 2022

Pursuant to Resolution No. 1368 (s. 2021), the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) informs the public that the August 1 – 2, 2021 Licensure Examination for Psychologists and Psychometricians (LEPP) has been POSTPONED and will be RESCHEDULED to an appropriate date on 2022.

Schools Required to Submit List of Graduates to PRC

(Note - in the template SO Number is included) 

Resolution 2015-885 series of 2015, is posted on the walls of PRC Application Division informing applicants that their application can only be processed if their names were submitted by their school to PRC. Below is the news that reiterates PRC's implementation of the said resolution  that was first issued as Resolution No. 2008-475.

Those applying for licensure exam or BLEPP, try to ensure that your name is included in the list of graduates that your school submits to PRC.

Manila, January 21, 2015 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) reiterates the implementation of Commission Resolution No. 2008-475, requiring registrar of schools, colleges and universities to submit a certified and notarized list of graduates of courses or holders of degrees who are possible examinees of licensure examinations.

The list, noted by the President/Chairman of the Board of the academic institution, should indicate the following information/column in excel file format:

Last Name (L_name), First Name (F_name), Middle Name (M_name), Course, School, Date Graduated (Dt_grad), SO No. (SO_no), SO Date (SO_date)

It must also indicate whether the necessary transcript of records had been issued to the graduates/degree holders and be submitted both in hard and digitized copies to prcictlou@gmail.com within fifteen (15) days from date of conferment.

The need to revive and enforce the policy is to ensure that all examinees taking the licensure examinations have been conferred with the required academic degrees by their academic institutions.

“Applicants for licensure examinations whose names do not appear in the list of graduates of courses or holders of degrees provided by the academic institution from which they represent to have finished their course or obtained their degree shall not be allowed to take the licensure examination”, the PRC said.

October 2014 Psychologist and Psychometrician Licensure Examinations results released in four (4) working days

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 35 out of 53 passed the Psychologist Licensure Examination and 1,290 out of 3,283 passed the Psychometrician Licensure Examination given by the Board of Psychology in Manila last October 2014. The result of examination with respect to one (1) examinee was withheld pending final determination of his liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examination.

The members of the Board of Psychology who gave the licensure examinations are Ms. Miriam P. Cue, Chairman; Ms. Alexa P. Abrenica and Ms. Imelda Virginia G. Villar, Members.

The results were released in four (4) working days after the last day of examinations.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be on November 24-26, 2014. Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 1 piece passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of metered documentary stamps and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession and to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2014-2017. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

• Check if there are defects or unnecessary marks on your Examinee Identification Sheet/Answer Sheets.

• Mark A or B on the answer sheet to indicate the set of Test Question assigned to you.
• You can use your Test Question Set as your Scratch .
• Keep the Test Question Set stapled until the end of examination.

The why and what of this blog

I came across the news about a psychology and psychometrician board exam. I did not even know that there's a law already professionalizing psychology and psychometrician. During our time in the 1990s some law makers were not so keen in providing a policy to regulate the practice of the profession.  Only in 2009 that it was finally realized, a law was passed, Republic Act 11029 or the Philippine Psychology Act of 2009, after a long struggle to make us Psychology graduate have license to practice our profession.

Since it is very new, looking around for materials and info about the board or licensure exam, I found only 3 testing centers and the buzz is not yet very loud and most probably a lot of psychology graduates are not yet informed about this new opportunity for them to get a license. Well the dates for the board or licensure exam is not yet set and finalized though.

So this is the the purpose of this blog, to inform and update my fellow psychology graduates about this opportunity. I will be posting news, update, links, review materials here from time to time. And anything and everything about psychology and its allied disciplines.
