Schools Required to Submit List of Graduates to PRC

(Note - in the template SO Number is included)

Resolution 2015-885 series of 2015, is posted on the walls of PRC Application Division informing applicants that their application can only be processed if their names were submitted by their school to PRC. Below is the news that reiterates PRC's implementation of the said resolution  that was first issued as Resolution No. 2008-475.

Those applying for licensure exam or BLEPP, try to ensure that your name is included in the list of graduates that your school submits to PRC.

Manila, January 21, 2015 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) reiterates the implementation of Commission Resolution No. 2008-475, requiring registrar of schools, colleges and universities to submit a certified and notarized list of graduates of courses or holders of degrees who are possible examinees of licensure examinations.

The list, noted by the President/Chairman of the Board of the academic institution, should indicate the following information/column in excel file format:

Last Name (L_name), First Name (F_name), Middle Name (M_name), Course, School, Date Graduated (Dt_grad), SO No. (SO_no), SO Date (SO_date)

It must also indicate whether the necessary transcript of records had been issued to the graduates/degree holders and be submitted both in hard and digitized copies to prcictlou@gmail.com within fifteen (15) days from date of conferment.

The need to revive and enforce the policy is to ensure that all examinees taking the licensure examinations have been conferred with the required academic degrees by their academic institutions.

“Applicants for licensure examinations whose names do not appear in the list of graduates of courses or holders of degrees provided by the academic institution from which they represent to have finished their course or obtained their degree shall not be allowed to take the licensure examination”, the PRC said.

Requirements for Repeaters for the Licensure Exam for Psychometrician

(Note: this is not an official PRC list, it needs further verification
This serves as advance information to all those who have been asking us
re requirements as per our latest contact with the PRC.)

Updated 26 May 2015

Bring your old NOA and also a print out of your rating.

For those asking - YES you can file application for examination both repeaters or first timers at the regional PRC office. No need to come to Manila and suffer yourself with the congestion and chaos at the PRC main office. Also, examination will be held in several key cities: Baguio, Manila, Legaspi, Cebu, and Davao.

-----------------------------------------

Based from the information we gathered from PRC, above would be the list of requirements for those who are repeaters or will retake the licensure exam for Psychometrician (BLEPP) this coming July 21-22, 2015.  So from the original requirements last year the only documents not included for repeaters to submit are the Certificates of Good Moral Character.

So before going to PRC to file your application for the licensure exam, try to secure first all the listed requirements above. At least both NBI and NSO documents could now be ordered or applied online.

There might be changes once PRC entertain application this coming month of May 2015, so just be open to any possibilities of either inclusions or exclusions of documents. And do let us know once you apply of the exact requirements for repeaters for us to inform others as well.

As to the process - first visit the PRC website, click the online application system and update your data or information for changes and save it.

Then, visit the closest PRC office in your place and follow the process of application by submitting those required original/photocopied documents.

Good luck to all repeaters and may you all make it this time!
Kami naman sa 2015!

Baseline Data: Survey Result as of April 2015

The data below is an addition to the survey result which we posted last March here - http://psychometricpinas.blogspot.com/2015/03/blepp-2015-baseline-data.html. The initial result have a total of 91 respondents while this survey has 57 respondents.  There's a strong correlation on the trend and pattern of results of the last survey with this one.

Also, our gratitude to those who responded to the survey as well as to our generous sponsors who provided us review gift pass which we gave to our respondents, maraming salamat po (just click their name to visit their FB page):

  1. East West Psychology Review Academy
  2. RGO Psychology Review Center
  3. Pathways International Review and Learning Center Corp.
  4. DigiPsych
  5. SRG PSYCH
  6. SPARK Psychology Review Center

More first time takers than retakers.

Majority age of test takers are in the bracket of 20-22 mostly in their early twenties.

More female than male.

Self-review is higher by a few points with those doing review but it will be almost equal if result of those reviewing through review centers is combined with  the result of those in the distance/online review.

SPARK Review Center continue to get high number of  respondents as the choice of review center
followed by Pathways and RGO.

It seems that passing the BLE for Psychometrician is a stepping stone in obtaining or becoming a licensed Psychologist. With MA in Psychology as pre-requisite for the BLE for Psychologist, this year saw an increase in the enrollment of those taking up Psychology in graduate school, a trend which will continue. Its implication would be a decrease of  Psychology graduate taking up units in education to become Values Education teacher  and those taking up MA in Guidance and Counseling. The priority would now be towards getting professionalized and licensed as Psychometrician and Psychologist so lesser competition for those in the field of education (teachers and guidance counselors).

But we hope to see those schools offering undergraduate and graduate courses in Psychology to improve their programs and offer other field to specialize like Sports Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Play/Music/Arts Therapy etc.
